When a Flair Puck is configured as a Gateway it connects to your WiFi and pairs with other Sensor Pucks, Smart Vents, or Bridge Pros in your system. A Gateway Puck can perform several functions
- reads the temperature in the area
- read the humidity in the area
- send IR commands to mini splits and other IR devices (window units, portable heaters, etc...)
- relay Flair commands from the cloud to the other Flair devices in the home.
When configured as a Gateway, the power draw from the WiFi radio necessitates that the Puck is powered via the included USB cable and adapter. You cannot power a Gateway Puck with batteries.
