Flair uses the Away Settings to determine how the system will behave when a system goes into Away mode or a room is set to inactive.
Away Settings is located in Home Settings->Away Settings. If Home/Away Mode is set to Thermostat, this option will not be enabled.
There are two possible values:
- Off Only - turn off IR devices / ignore set points
- Smart Away - use safety bounds to prevent rooms from getting too hot or too cold
Use this setting when you want Flair to turn off your HVAC system or your mini splits when you're away. If you're using a non-integrated thermostat, Flair will leave Smart Vents in their last position.
Use this setting when you want your home to remain in a safe temperature range when you're away. Some examples might be:
- Going on vacation
- Keep a pet comfortable while you're at work
- Preventing pipes from freezing
Smart Away uses two temperature values for it's range:
- Away Temperature minimum: cooling set point
- Away Temperature maximum: heating set point
If temperatures rise or fall below these set points, Flair will turn on mini splits and central systems. If you're using a non-integrated thermostat, Flair will begin operation of Smart Vents.
Smart Away Temperature Minimum
This becomes the new cooling set point. When a system is set to Away, Flair will not let the room/home rise above this temperature.
Smart Away Temperature Maximum
This becomes the new heating set point. When a system is set to Away, Flair will not let the home drop below this temperature.
