My device is trying to connect to "Flair WiFi xxxx" but Flair Setup is stuck

This article applies when adding a Bridge or Gateway Puck to Flair and connecting it to your home WiFi. "Device" is a phone or tablet.

Only connect your device to "Flair WiFi xxxx" when prompted during Setup

During Setup, Flair will run through steps to connect your device to the "Flair WiFI xxxx" network broadcasted by the Puck. This is a local wifi network only used during Setup.

If you're running Flair Setup on a phone or tablet, you'll be asked to enter the Gateway Puck's ID. Once entered, Setup will attempt to automatically connect your device to the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network. In some cases, Flair Setup may prompt you to connect your device manually to the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network by going into your device's WiFi settings and selecting the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network.

If you're using a laptop or desktop computer to run Flair Setup at my.flair.co, Flair Setup will prompt you to connect your device manually to the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network by going into your computer's WiFi settings and selecting the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network.

My device was connected to the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network outside of Setup

If you've connected your device to the "Flair WiFi xxxx" network outside of Flair Setup or before being prompted to do so, this can interfere with the Setup process.

If you've connected to "Flair WiFi xxxx" outside of the normal Flair Setup flow, do the following:

  1. Close the Flair app
  2. Turn off WiFi on your device, then turn it back on
  3. Reconnect your device to your home WiFI
  4. On the Gateway Puck, go into the Settings menu, rotate to select "Forget WiFi" and push to select (confirm if asked)
  5. Reopen the Flair app and you'll be prompted to restart Setup
  6. Follow the prompts to connect your device to the "Flair WiFi xxxx"

My device won't reconnect to home WiFi

In some cases, after connecting your Gateway Puck to your home WiFi, your device may not automatically reconnect to your home WiFi network and Flair Setup may be halted. Check to see if your device is connected to your home WiFi and reconnect to it if necessary.
