Every Flair system needs at least one Gateway Puck. There are a few reasons why you may need more than one Gateway Puck:
- To handle a large Flair system
- To boost the RF signal to Smart Vents and Sensor Pucks (using batteries) throughout your home
Large Central Systems
For systems using more than 16 Flair devices (Pucks and/or Vents combined) more than one Gateway Puck is needed. If you think you may have a large system, our large system calculator can help you determine the minimum number of Gateway Pucks you'll need. Large system calculator: flair.co/large-systems
The Flair Network
Gateway Pucks create an RF (radio frequency) signal network in your home. Gateway Pucks act as hubs for your Flair system, communicating with other Flair devices over this RF network.
All Smart Vents and Sensor Pucks need to be in the range of a Gateway Puck. Depending on the layout and construction of your home, additional Gateway Pucks may be needed to boost the strength of the Flair network to your Smart Vents and Sensor Pucks.
If Smart Vents or Sensor Pucks are offline, have a weak signal, or go offline frequently, try moving a Gateway closer to the Sensor Puck/Smart Vent see if it comes back online. If so, add another Gateway Puck or convert an existing Sensor Puck to a Gateway Puck.
