Gateway Pucks may temporarily show inaccurate temperature readings during initial Setup. The setup process involves heavy WiFi usage, and temperature calibration data does not sync until after the Puck is connected to the internet. It may also take a few minutes for the unit to equilibrate with its environment after initial Setup.
If your Puck says “Syncing…” and you don’t see a WiFi icon on the Gateway Puck or have setup your Gateway Puck within the last few minutes, please disregard any temperature readings.
If after a few hours, your Gateway Puck is still not reading correctly, you can calibrate the Puck as follows:
- Get an accurate reading of the room temperature at the location of the Puck
- Subtract the Pucks temperature from the actual room temperature to get the offset
- In the Flair app, go to Home Settings->Flair Devices, expand the Puck, and adjust the Temperature Calibration Offset for the offset you calculated
- Allow up to 30 minutes for the calibration to take effect
