Flair Pucks and Smart Vents work alongside all thermostats, adjusting airflow and evening out the temperatures in your home.
Flair offers two methods of control for central systems:
- Airflow Control: operating Smart Vents based on temperature readings from the Puck
- Set Point Control: optionally controlling an integrated smart thermostat
Airflow Control
Flair will compare the room temperature to the desired temperature and close Smart Vents when there is too much heated or cooled airflow in a room and opening them when there is not enough.
Room temperatures can be adjusted using the Flair app, rotating a Puck, or through scheduled events.
Flair will always provide airflow control, whether or not you integrate a smart thermostat.
When not using an integrated smart thermostat, Flair will read duct temperature to know when your system is heating or cooling.
Set Point Control
Flair integrates with all ecobee, Nest, Carrier Infinity, Bryant Evolution, and Honeywell WiFi-connected smart thermostats. Flair will also pull in data from the remote sensors paired with ecobee and Honeywell thermostats. Once integrated, Flair will be able to read set point and mode changes from the smart thermostat.
Optionally, if you choose to use the Set Point Controller = Flair App setting, Flair will be able to nudge set points on your integrated smart thermostat as needed to maintain the desired temperatures in your home. When needed Flair will also be able to change the mode on your integrated smart thermostat.
Home/Away and Occupancy
When using an integrated smart thermostat and remote sensors, Flair offers additional settings to control Home/Away and occupancy behavior.
Mirror Mode
Flair offers Mirror Mode to pass an integrated smart thermostat set point to a mini split. This is great for remodels or converted garages where a mini split has been added to provide heating and cooling and you want it to follow your smart thermostat.
