3 sensor dots on face of puck

There are three dots, sensors, on the face of the puck.  What do they do?  Do I need to point these to face the minisplit head in the wall?

    Hi Bruce MacDonald,

    The three dots above the Puck's front display are for the front-facing IR Blaster to control your mini split. There are two more IR Blasters on the sides of the Puck at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions.
