Why can't we have a simple open/close option?

Is there a logical reason why there is no simple option to open and close a vent without having to jump through unnecessary hoops to perform such a simple task? Why do we have to change the entire systems settings from Auto to Manual just to have the option to open or close one single vent???

Example: I have a 12x12 vent in a TV room and when it's closed its very noisy.... When we are watching a movie, we want to just open the vent to get rid of the whistling noise... Even if we could just slightly open the vents this would be great. Maybe a timer, like keep vent open for 2 hours and then go back to auto mode, etc...

The simple fact is that these vents make noise when they are closed.... Maybe Flair is not aware of that but I see many reviews and comments (from six years ago) questioning this functionality....

I don't care about algorithms and this and that.... The reality is that these are times when we simply just need to open or close a vent, it's just the nature of incorporating a system like this into existing HVAC, plain and simple.

you're asking too much, I've been waiting for 2+ years to be able simply sort/re-arrange rooms...

Yeah, as I read more into these I get the feeling that not much effort has gone into making the product any better, very limited customization which is a bummer for a "smart device"...

I would purchase more but I'm on the fence because they don't seem to be going anywhere.
