How many pucks do I need
I notice that the vents have two sensors and report the temp in the app.
I've set things up so each room has a puck controlling however many vents are in that room. This gets pricy.
Can you have a room with a vent and no puck? My simple examples are the 1/2 bathroom and laundry room. Both are heat or air conditioning sinks (too hot or cold when the rest of the house is struggling to get to the right temp), it seems a waste to put a puck in there. Can the sensor on the vent serve the same purpose? I get that I can't set the desired temp from the vent (duh!) but can I do it from the app? If not why not?
Thanks

You pretty much need a puck in each room you want to have maintained at a specific temperature. The only reason to have a vent with no puck is if you want remote control of the vent itself.
Edit: The vent sensors are temperature and pressure of the air coming out of the vent; they can't be used for ambient room temp.
