I have a Carrier Infinity system. I have begun installing Flair vents/pucks. Configuration currently as follows:
- Master bedroom has Carrier thermostat, Flair puck gateway, 3 Flair vents, 1 manual vent
- Middle bedroom has Flair puck, 1 Flair vent
- There are 6 other manual vents in other bedrooms / bathrooms
Flair home temp set at 72 F and Auto.
Carrier thermostat set to turn on heat if temp below 72 F.
Master bedroom puck set at 72 F.
Middle bedroom puck set at 70 F. (Temperature in room was above 70 F).
The problem is the temperature in the master bedroom is such that the Carrier thermostat turned on the heat but the Flair system had shut all of the vents it could control. The Carrier system was trying to heat a room with closed vents.
Flair is supposed to be able to handle systems without being able to control the thermostat, but this seems to be an example where this doesn't work.
