    Hi Paul,

We are bringing our latest 6x14 to market shortly and then will be looking into new sizes, especially the sizes seen more in the South and Southeast - larger squares and rectangles. Hard to give a timeline yet but definitely something we are going to expand into.

    Cheers,

    Dan

Square vents are in the late engineering phase as we test a few mechanical approaches.  Hoping to get them to market by mid year next year.

What's the status of smart vent sizes? I'd like to buy them but my house currently has 10x10, 16x16, 6x12, 4x8.

10x10's, white, don't care the material. I want 7 or 8 in Los Angeles.

We are starting work on a number of new sizes.  Squares (8x8, 10x10, and 12x12s) are in the design phase among others.  I can't give a hard timeline just yet as design -> prototyping -> tooling -> test builds -> production run -> shipping has a good amount of lead time and timing uncertainty - just want to set expectations accordingly but also excited to finally be cranking on this!

Does anyone know if there's any update to this?
I thought I read somewhere these sizes were coming in March... Yet to hear any updates.

I'd like to second this. My house has nothing but 8x8 square vents, and that means none of your sizes are small enough to fit. Please consider doing them as soon as possible!

So one question on the square sizes - I assume they are all on the ceiling - preferences on the grill pattern/throw?  Assuming its all ceilings, perhaps we could do a curved blade design?  We could also stick with the current design to keep things consistent if that would be preferable since many homes have a mix of sizes.  I'd also like to make the front plates out of aluminum instead of steel (save on weight) if its ceiling only - any preferences there?

Chrissie, all 8x8s are on the ceiling. So I have seven 8x8s in the ceiling, one 6x6 in the ceiling, and two 6x6s in a wall.

Happy to weigh in here from the Flair side. We are working on a something pretty big that will enable us to launch a bunch of new sizes.  I know thats vague and unsatisfying but I can't share the details just yet.  I can share that one of the absolutely top priorities is building more smart vent options.

I'd say that we'll have some announcements in the coming couple months and hope to have at least a few of the new sizes around the end of the year.  Generally tooling and testing take 3-5 months for a new size but we might be able to compress that a bit.  Of course after testing is done, we can kick off a build and that has some lead time as well for components/assembly/freight hence a Q4 estimate.  Definitely an aggressive timeline but also very doable.

Is there any update on the addition of 10x10's? I need a bunch of them and have been holding out. I'm now discussing having my hvac company cut into the ceilings to retrofit the ducts to change the sizes of the outlets to accommodate your existing product at the 6x10 size... but I'd really prefer to wait if the launch of the 10x10 is imminent.

According to Flair: “We'll be making 8", 10" and 12" square Smart Vents in 2023.”

Any update would be appreciated. I got a home that I am looking at retrofitting with these. I would need 20 12x12. Also got an office that could benefit that would need 20. How many units will work together?   Thanks

Agreed. 7 out of 9 of my vents are square. Since my house is old with addons, the temperature varies alot from room to room. Please consider this as soon as possible as I would rather purchase from Flair then a competitor like Keen.

All of my vents (7 square and 2 rectangle) are all ceiling vents. I would prefer if the grills are the same for consistency. I like the idea of using aluminum instead of steel, however, would these dent and crease easily?

These are just my personal preferences. But if you move forward with square vents, how many variants would you offer at once? I have three different square sizes, bathrooms have the smallest vent, then bedrooms, then larger rooms.

    I appreciate the quick feedback.

@Daniel Myers - I have eight 8x8 vents and two 6x6 vents, most on the ceiling. Also - thank you very much for participating in these conversations, it's much appreciated.

Throwing my hat in the ring here. I'm interested in purchasing flair vents as well but will hold off until an 8x8 model is launched as that is what I have in my ceiling as well. Very interested in seeing these come out.

Adding a +1 to the 6x6 vents. The second floor of my home is filled with these ceiling vents.

Currently have 10x10 aluminum square vents that throw in 4 directions.  be good to have a modular design or something for square vents so different covers could be used depending on size.  Really want to get flair but no ceiling square vents are offered.

@Daniel Myers, any updates on the 8 x 8 vents? I have several in my walls and ceilings. Would be ready to buy 7 of them and 7 pucks to go with them if they were available.  Would be great to get a timeline as others have requested.

@Daniel Myers I too would love 8x8 and 10x10 vents as my ceilings have them in Southern California. Pretty big market out here.

I also have a lot of square vents (both large and small).  One is in a bedroom, which has given me hesitancy in "pulling the trigger" on buying Flair as I can only get Smart vents for 3 out of 4 of my bedrooms :(

That’s great news Dan and thanks a lot for jumping on here and letting us know. Do you have any sense of timing? Even something vague like “before the end of 2022” or “early 2023” would be helpful.

Any updates by chance on new sizes?  Just got my flair vents - so excited!  Really hoping to get a 14x14 one for my last bedroom!

For those asking about 14x14 - can you confirm that this is the size of the hole in the wall and not the exterior dimensions of the vents?

I live in Los Angeles and have five ceiling vents that are 9.5”x9.5” duct size with the vent off and two that are 14”x8”. I’m all in on new or adjustable sizes.
