2 Stage Furnace Support?

I have a 2-stage central system and maybe I am not understanding what you are trying to accomplish, but I see no need for Flair to have 2-stage support natively. Flair controls the smart vents, which will control getting the rooms to the desired set points, the ecobee will control staging based on whether your heating/cooling is keeping up with demand, or not.

Multi-stage AC systems run more efficiently at lower speeds and longer run times, so why would you want to force it into a higher speed? Let the system run as-is in stage 1 if it is reaching the desired set points.

If heating/cooling demand isn't keeping up, theoretically your smart vents will be open already when stage 2 kicks in and will close as the individual rooms reach temp, just as your heating/cooling begins ramping back down.  That's how it is supposed to perform and doesn't require any additional settings/configuration.

    Hi Dale,

Grooves12 gave a great answer to this!

I would also like to add that Flair can be configured to read set points passively from your ecobee, or it can actively send set points based on room temperatures. For more information, see: https://support.flair.co/hc/en-us/articles/360000533631-Set-Point-Controller.

Either way, decisions regarding which stage is running at a given time will be left up to your HVAC system.

If you have any further thoughts or questions, I recommend writing in to Support@Flair.co.

    Regards,

    The Flair Team
