    Hi Jusstin Williams,

The first thing I want to mention here is that mini splits are designed to run more-or-less continuously.  Please see the following article: Why is the mini split fan still running

With Flair you will be able to remotely turn off the mini splits any time you wish.  If you see that guests have checked out and the splits are still running you will be able to turn off the mini splits via our app from wherever you happen to be in the world.  You will be able to do this on one or all of them as needed.

You can also remotely adjust set points to ensure that the units are not running the compressor unnecessarily to heat or cool the place when its not occupied.

Our operation and schedules are about temperature and comfort, not time, so we do not have an off timer you can activate.

We would be happy to discuss this in more detail.  Please reach out to support@flair.co with additional questions.

    Hi Jusstin Williams,

I want to follow up with you here and offer a different solution that may be just what you are looking for.

Let me layout the recommendations and then I will explain what behavior you can expect.

I would recommend that you establish a schedule in Flair that sets your rooms to Inactive all day every day.

You should then then configure your Flair home to use the Smart Away feature with an upper and lower bound temperature representative of the range you want the home kept in when no one is there.

This will cause your mini splits to turn off whenever the home is within the range created by the Smart Away Max and Min you established.

Any time a guest wants to engage the mini split in a room they will simply turn the dial on the Puck to change the set point, creating a temporary hold for that room that will interrupt the scheduled Inactive period.  You can choose to use a 3-hour, 8-hour, or 24-hour hold duration.  My recommendation, to allow for uninterrupted, comfortable sleep would be to use the 8-hour default hold duration.

When the hold expires, if the room temperature is within your established Smart Away bounds, the mini splits will turn off.

Hopefully, this will accomplish what you are after. If you would like to speak more about this please email our technical support team - support@flair.co

    Regards,
