Ideal ecobee/flair settings.
Hi all. I just converted from Nest to the newest ecobee. I added 9 smart vents as follows Family Room (4) Guest Room (1) Grandson Room (1) Laundry (1) Primary Bedroom (2) The family room is really our common area- living, kitchen, dining in a large area (1500 sq ft). The other rooms are typical. The family room does have a gas fireplace that we use frequently in winter for space heat. I have the ecobee setup to average the primary and family room as I would manually shut the vents in the non-occupied bedrooms most of the year and open as needed with guests. I added a set point for 30 minutes before bed to take the chill off the primary. I then set the house back overnight. Ideally, I would like to have the guest rooms set in a way that they recognize occupancy and automatically heat those rooms as needed, keeping them shut the rest of the time. The family room will normally be quite a bit warmer than set point during the evenings due to the gas heat. Curious the best approach on settings and if I should let ecobee drive the furnace or the flair?
