Humidity Control
AnsweredI have a window unit with "dry" mode which dehumidifies the air without cooling. While the Flair Puck gives a humidity reading, I haven't seen any humidity controls in the Flair app. Is there any ability to control the room's humidity with Flair? Can you set Flair to turn the AC on in "dry" mode triggered by certain humidity thresholds or are there plans to add this functionality?

We currently do not have an automated dry mode. However, if you switch to manual mode you can manually switch the mini split into dry mode. If you do not see dry mode, we may need to adjust the IR settings for your device.
That being said, it might be beneficial to explain the difference between dry mode and cool mode. In dry mode, your fan runs at a lower speed and the compressor may cycle less frequently. This will result in an evaporator coil that is cooler (since less air is moving over it) and will dehumidify a bit faster.
In cool mode, more air flows over your evaporator coil, resulting is some dehumidification, but not as much as a dry mode.
So in summary, when in Flair's auto mode, running your unit in cool will allow for some dehumidification. We have some ideas we've been tossing around about when to run a unit in dry mode, but what kind of automation would you like to see around this mode?

I have a room that I like dryer/less humid for health conditions...many of my friends/clients with the same condition need a dryer room. Since the AC air on average is 50% humidity... I would like to have a sensor in that room that turns the vents open more when the humidity rises and closes more when the humidity is low. I would buy over 100+ a year since I help other people with this same need...I know install a manual device but an automatic, set it and forget it, device would be great.

+1 here, I would like to add some of the features of the original remote control be able to be added to the app, when the remote using on the setup support it on that device.
For example: Turn off the Led that display the Split unit that my wife want to be turning off after setting up the desire operation mode, and turn it on, each time change something. But to acomplish this, I think the puck most know, first re IR code that do that, and an option that let us do it with the puck. So, maybe a form, where to submit:
- Remote ID
- IR code and what it does on that Remote ID
More Input types: for example, it's: hot, cold
One other feature, that is just puck specific would be AI, per puck, something like https://www.ambiclimate.com/en/, I know, the puck has not a light sensor, so not that, but that the puck learning mode, would help to feel the final user better, as the puck learn what is expecting the user. This is build with usage history (not only what the sensor said, but what the user set and for how long), sensors (Temp/Humidity), etc.

My old home has a internet connected Carrier Infinity t-stat.I'm spoiled. It really is the top of the line. One of its features is a humidity set point. The Infinity does not have a dry mode. It continues to call for cool until the humidity set point is met. Longer cycles equate to lower humidity. A humidity set point can be implemented in software without regard to equipment.

Same here. The logic that cool mode justifies the lack of dry mode doesn't make any sense. If the options are there in manual mode, then either allow for scheduling with manual settings or add dry mode as an option into automated mode so that users can at least have some periodic scheduling to run with that option. The front end of this solution is severely limiting the potential of your hardware.
