Functions of the puck

I’m looking for a way to control my Mini Split while away from home. I need to control Temperature change as well as be able to switch between AC and Heat. Will this product accomplish that on it own, with additional thermostats ect.. My mini split is controlled now by just a IR remote. So I’m assuming I need just one Puck?
