Flair Update on Works with Nest
PinnedUpdate, 10/25/2021
Google Nest integrates with Flair! You’ve waited and we appreciate your patience. We’ve completed the rigorous certification process required to once again support Nest thermostat integrations with Flair. Happy day!
FYI, Google has still not implemented remote sensor support for third party integrators, so Flair can’t access their data.
Update, 8/22/2019
Google Nest recently announced a way to keep your Nest integration with Flair working!
Earlier this year, Google announced that they would discontinue the Works with Nest platform in favor of Works with Google Assistant.
If you would like to retain the current level of functionality between Flair and Nest, we recommend the following course of action:
- Do not migrate your Nest account to a Google account. Migrating your Nest account will permanently disconnect your integrations between Flair (along with other products) and Nest. You will not be able to reverse this.
- Do not disconnect Nest from Flair after August 31st, 2019. You will not be able to reconnect your devices after August 31st.
Flair believes in an open smart home and we welcome these changes. However, we still encourage all of our users to continue to let Google Nest know that they wish to see all of their current Works with Nest features in Google Nest's Works with Google Assistant plan.

If you have any questions about Flair and Works with Nest, please do not hesitate to email our customer support team.
We're aware that Google Nest is shutting down the Works with Nest platform and will be migrating developers and users to Works with Google Assistant. We're working with Google Nest to develop new capabilities with our Google Assistant integration for our customers with Nest thermostats.
Nest launched its Works with Nest platform with the tagline "Your Smart Home Shouldn't be Dumb." It's unfortunate that Nest is choosing to close down its Open API. The Smart Home shouldn't be dumb. We believe in Open APIs here at Flair— our API is open to any user who wants to tinker or develop their own integrations. The freedom to tinker is in our DNA.
In the meantime, we encourage users not to migrate from their Nest account to a Google account, as this will break your current functionality between Nest and Flair. If at all possible, we also encourage users to check out thermostats by ecobee and Honeywell Lyric. We've always appreciated their openness, and our integrations with those thermostats will be unaffected.
We'll be keeping users updated between now and August 31st, but please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
