    Hi Jason,

Thanks for this message! Flair is a cloud-based/IoT smart home solution for heating and cooling.

With regards to Hubitat, it looks like that uses the Zigbee/Z-wave protocol to communicate with smart home devices. Flair is not a Zigbee/Z-wave device.

Flair is in thousands of homes, and we strive to optimize for the vast majority of our users. However, we understand that there are some users who have unique homes. We encourage any users who like to tinker to use our Open API to see how they can design a solution that is tailor made for their use case.

    Hi Jason and Flair.

Jason: I am with you on this -- would love to have local control of the Flair Vents opening and closing through my Hubitat just as Keen Vents are currently supported.  It CAN be done -- just a matter of someone with the time and knowledge to utilize Flair's API -- apparently it had been done before with SmartThings but Flair modified their API so often/drastically that it wasn't worth the effort keeping up with Flair's changes.  Perhaps that has changed?

Keep in mind the SmartThings still utilizes Flair's API through the cloud, not local. I did contact the developer and he has no interest in recreating his work for Hubitat.  The Flair system is actually able to be controlled through a local API, but it doesn't sound like something they are probably ever going to enable or release.  For me the Hubitat's local control, open flexibility, and Flair stagnant partner development lead me to sell all of my Flair stuff in favor of Keen.  It was a tough call at first since Flairs vents are built better and offer hard-wiring, but it has been well worth it, and I figured out a way to hard-wire the Keens as well.

I appreciate that, Jason. I have had the same thoughts but am still waiting to see if anything changes with the way Flair plays with Hubitat - not holding my breath, though. Currently using Flair vents manually through their app while all other climate control can report to and be controlled by the hub.
