    I'm getting the same effect. I can hear vents open/close multiple times per hour with no events triggering them.

    I have the same issue. Vents will randomly start opening and closing every few minutes.

    I opened a support ticket with Flair, below is their response:

    Q) Vent motor runs several times a minute when there is no need to open or close— what is it doing?

    This is due to the Flair Smart Vent loosing connection; as when this happens, it will automatically open. Once the connection is restored, it will determine if it needs to be either opened or closed.

    Q) Both vents are in the same room and equidistant to the single puck (12 feet). RSSI for vents is between -65 and -90.

    Flair Devices communicate over a 915MHz frequency similar to WiFi, though with a lower power requirement. As you're experiencing low signal-strength of the Flair Smart Vents, it's most likely due to interference which may be caused by large metal/reflective objects (T.V.'s, mirrors, weightlifting equipment, etc.), high-powered electronics (microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, etc.), or similar-frequency networks (zigbee, z-wave, ecobee, etc.).

    But is there any way to at least set how long the timeout is for when the vents think theyre disconnected? It seems to be ridiculously too low, like 30-60 sec

    @Burt,
    I returned my Flair vents 2 years ago because of this issue. Speaking with Flair support, we assumed my problem was due to interference with zwave devices in my home. Has Flair solved this problem? Maybe it’s time I give Flair another try?

    Hi KC Madsen,

    Our 915 MHz radio frequency hardware and software have not changed in the past few years. I'm not "in the loop" to know about any possible or planned changes. So unfortunately, I'd assume that you would experience the same issues today as you did two years ago.

    Best Regards,

    I had the same issue after installing my flair puck and vent last night. For me the issue was the combined 2.4/5ghz network I was broadcasting. It's a documented issue that the pucks have a hard time staying put on the 2.4ghz network in this combined environment (seriously figure you stuff out Flair, none of my other smart devices have this issue).

    Splitting my wifi networks into separate 2.4 and 5ghz networks resolved my frequent disconnect issues and now my vents respond as expected.
