Viability in 2 Story House
I'm looking into purchasing these, but wanted to get some confirmation on if these system will fix my problem. I have a two story house with 8 total vents. 5 on the first floor and 3 on the second floors. The upstairs is way too hot during the summer while the downstairs is a comfortable temperature. Would a Flair system be a good way to balance out the temperature between floors or is that asking too much? Manually blocking off all 5 downstairs vents does help, but after some reading it sounds like blocking 5/8 vents might not be the best thing for the ac unit.

Hi John,
We won't ever block 5 of 8 vents (max is 1/3 of the zones total at any given time). We'd recommend putting vents in the downstairs and Flair will block air from the downstairs as needed to redirect upstairs. In your case, it might choose to block different sets of downstairs areas so that it keeps the upstairs cooler without having to let any downstairs rooms get too warm. Assuming you have an ecobee or Honeywell smart thermostat, our integration will coordinate that as well to make sure the systems runs long enough to cool off the upstairs.
Cheers,
