    Is there any update on this? I'd like to integrate flair with both hoeassistant and homekit (happy if homekit is via homeassistant). Also where will thread/matter be added.

    Brilliant now have a bunch of integrations so you can implement this now. They also support smartthings so you could get 2 for 1.

    Very happy that you are giving it so much thought. The dust  from packaging issue is a new one for me. Consider me slightly smarter now. Love the idea of wrapping the vent in paper to keep dust etc...
