Mini splits and other infrared controlled devices can sometimes have poor temperature regulation because their temperature sensor is not in an ideal location. This can result in an uncomfortable room and wasted energy. Flair's Room Sense™ feature was designed to help mini splits work more efficiently and accurately to provide more comfort. Room Sense can help with all IR controlled devices, not just mini splits.
With Room Sense enabled, Flair Puck acts as the temperature sensor for Mini Splits, Window Units, and Portables. This gives Flair a better read on room temperature, so it can periodically adjust the set point as necessary to maintain the correct temperature.
To enable Room Sense, go to the Home Settings->Mini Splits, Portables and Window ACs, expand the device you'd like to regulate with the Puck temperature and toggle the "Enable Room Sense" button. Room Sense is available on a per-Mini Split/Portable/Window AC basis.
If Room Sense is turned off, Flair will simply hand off your set point to your device. Your device will then take over with temperature regulation.
Note: Flair will not turn off your device when using Room Sense. This prevents unnecessary stress on your device due to short cycling. If the room containing your device is Inactive, then Room Sense is paused and your mini split will turn off.
