In my limited experience of 1 year using my Flair system,  I have found that the rooms in my home that have poor airflow still struggle to reach the desired temperature,  especially when it is hot outside and the system is cooling. I end up cooling a lot of the rest of the house much more than I would prefer, in order to keep the system on long enough to cool the rooms with poor airflow. This is due to the fact that cheap flexible duct was used that is pinched and twisted in various places so that not all the air goes through.  Also, the system/fan vis the smallest size possible unfortunately for our square footage of house, so the system struggles to push air all the way from the basement up to the attic to reach the ceiling of the 2nd floor bedrooms.  The other houses that are the size of our house

I haven't entirely figured out the logic algorithms the system uses, but it is well known that the system will never close more than 1/3 of the vents on the system, in order to prevent backflow issues that will damage the system.  So let's say you have 10 vents, then the Flair system will only close 3.   i expect it will choose to close 3 in rooms that have already reached the desired set temperature.  But if all the other rooms in the house have reached their desired temperature, and only Kaeden's has not, then it will still only close 3 of them. So you think it might continue to heat the rest of the house above the desired set temperature until Kaeden's room also meet's its desired set temperature of 63, but then the rest of the house will be too warm.  But instead, what I "think" happens is that if the average temperature across all rooms gets to some point equal to the "System" set point (61 degrees in your case), they system stops heating.   I would try to experiment with a couple of things:    1 -change the set point to something higher, 2- change the desired temperature for some unoccupied rooms to something higher.  the idea is to trick the system into continuing to heat  kaedens room and other rooms that you don't care if they get warmer than you need them to.   Oh... and make sure all dampers in your ductwork are wide open, so the system can do its job.  that is probaably the lowest hanging fruit.   Maybe others have more helpful thoughts.

    Hi Ric Dean,

When Flair is the Set Point Controller, you want to set enough rooms Inactive so that Flair focuses on the rooms where you want specific temperatures

In your home I’m seeing all rooms Active. Flair will average the Active room set points when determining the optimal thermostat set point. I am unsure if the room called Entryway has any Smart Vents, but if not, we want to definitely set it Inactive to prevent Flair from, including its set point in the room average.

Next, you may want to create a schedule to set the non-bedrooms Inactive at night and bedrooms Inactive during the day. This will help Flair control the thermostat based on Active rooms only.

Finally, I see you have Bedroom set to 56F. It seems like you may be trying to close the Smart Vents in this room? Instead, I’d suggest setting it Inactive.

Let’s see how that works and if you’re needing more assistance, please reach out to us at flair.co/contact so we can examine your system and provide specific assistance.

    Thanks,

    Finn

Appreciate all the information everyone.  I live in a colder climate.  This room is above the garage that isnt very well sealed so it's always been colder.  I understand that if i were to use just the forced-air heater to heat the room i would make other rooms over temperature.  I have added an envi convection heater for supplemental heat and am able to keep the room at an acceptable temperature.  I was hoping for miracles with the flair system but especially with my ancient one-stage-single speed furnace that would really tax the system, my expectations were unattainable.  All in all I am happy with the flair system and will be able to save money in the long run but the flair cannot overcome inherent problems with the design of the heating system in this home.
