Switching from Heat to Cool and vice versa Issues
I have a Nest system with several vents. Currently, it is the time of the year where I frequently use heat during the night and cool during the day
Often, when switching Flair from Heat -> Cool or Cool -> Heat, the vents still behave as if they are still in the previous mode.
For instance, in heating mode, a vent will be closed until the temperature falls or it will close when the temperature rises even though the current temperature is way below the set point. This is the opposite of what should take place. The same issue occurs when switching from Cool to Heat as well (opposite behavior). The UI even indicates this opposite behavior. One of my rooms was at 68 F and the set point was set to heating at 72 F. However, the vent remained closed and the UI indicated that the vent will open when the room rises to 73 F as if it was in Cooling mode (even though the icon and orange color clearly indicated Heat).
Eventually, I can get it to work by repeatedly switching from one mode to another, but it takes several tries. Sometimes, removing the Nest thermostat and then re-adding it fixes the issue, but that is a lot of unnecessary steps. Another action that sometimes fixes the issue is switching the mode to Auto/Cool and then changing the temperature in the Flair app, but again, not always.
What should happen is that vents immediately open/close depending on the set point and that the behavior reflects the current mode. Eventually, all of these various actions mentioned magically fixes the issue and all of my vents open/close and start behaving accordingly.
Can someone at Flair please take a look at this?

I don't have any specific help to offer but I have found that the system tends to delay a bit in executing actions when making changes between modes. Im not sure why it does. Also, this time of year can be challenging for our system. We have 2 different schedules that we use..a "summer", and a "winter" schedules. I think that in theory, I should be able to use the Auto Heat/cool mode and the system should figure it out, but I haven't found the temp settings to use that make that mode work well for us. I probably need a 3rd schedule for spring/fall but haven't figured out what would work. I tend to just switch as needed between "heat" and "cool" modes, and summer/winter schedule. And I do sometimes go days at a time just with the system off this time of year, Rather than spending money heating up the house at night just to spend money to cool it down during the day.

I have mostly fixed the issue by setting the 'Set point controller' to my Nest Thermostat and then Flair will follow the mode that the thermostat is set to.
I say mostly because there have been cases where Flair will stop updating and it will stay on the last setting no matter how many times I switch Nest from Cool to Heat. When that happens, the solution is to unpair Nest and re-pair it again, followed by setting Flair to have the set point controller being the Nest Thermostat once again.
