    Hi Yuval,

We haven't been asked this before and it's a cool idea. We haven't tried it so I can't really say if it will work or not. If you do try it, please let us know how it works out.

    All the best,

    Finn

I custom fit my Flair vents into wood floor vent covers (matching the hardwood).  The hard wood covers had a plastic louver that I removed and I just recessed the Flair vents inside (without the Flair cover plate).  Works great but did require custom cutting the Flair vent to fit (cut off some of the outer flange)

    Brian,

I intend to perform this exact same workaround in my house.  What did you find was the best way to cut the flanges?

    Thanks!

Stephen K I believe the easiest way was with my metal cop saw.  I also have used a grinder.  I am going to be doing a whole bunch more altering of vents in the next couple weeks.  I'll be doing a big post on how I installed them in new wood floor vents and in tile vents (these were really tough).

I want this as well. Most of our rooms need the air directed one way, as they're at edge of a ceiling - not out in every direction like the default face plate.

I am looking to do something similar. How did you keep the batter pack pressed in? Did you require any modification to that part?

The battery pack fit in all my installs. No modifications required on battery packs. Only modification needed was cutting down on the flanges.

Wish I has more time, I would do a full post on my installs in the hard wood floors and tile floor. The tile floor installs are amazing
