    Hi Oliver McGill,

I have created a support ticket from this post and will reach out to you personally to discuss the items you have brought up here.

Thanks for being a valued Flair customer.

    Regards,

    The Flair Team

Repeating this request. This was pretty inconvenient during the AWS outage.

Jumping on this train. Easiest solution is to add matter support through the bridge. Hoping that is your big announcement.

I've stopped adding to my flair system and no longer put anything in my home that lacks local control.  Personally, I don't care if you want to collect data in the cloud, but give me control over my system too.

Agreed. This is critical to control the temperature in my toddler and baby’s room. The AWS outage as well as right now, as I post this, I cannot access the API to control my vents.

Yup. Currently locked out my own home's HVAC.

Flair really needs to have local control AND a status dashboard with estimated fix timelines.

Don't hold your breath everyone... here's the response I got back about this request:

"We have definitely heard the requests from you and many other users for offline, local control of your system. We are building towards offering more and more offline features into our solutions, but at this time, full local/offline control is not on the roadmap."

So even though it's been requested for years at this point, they clearly have no intention of adding local control. I can only assume this is for one of two reasons a) they don't want to rule out adding a subscription model at some point in the future or b) the company is worth more with us users being beholden to centralized cloud control, which directly relates to point a. Disappointing.

It is wise to be careful if Flair won’t support local control. Their primary competitor Keen Home just announced they are shutting down and now all the systems are useless junk.

Simply supporting Matter through the gateway would do the trick here. Keep all of the cloud stuff through the app, but enable local control through matter. Without this, they'll end up like Keen. I use them, and like them, but I won't buy another vent until it happens. Already looking for alternatives.
