Multi-head mini-split with concealed unit
AnsweredI've got a Mitsubishi mini split system, with 4 wall mounted heads, and one concealed head, all connected to a single outdoor unit. The concealed head feeds four vents in different rooms, with the wireless thermostat in the hallway. I'm trying to figure out how to make the system work with Flair, because almost none of the units work well at holding a temperature today. It seems like I need: - 4 pucks, one for each wall mounted unit - 4 smart vents, for each room fed by the concealed unit - A smart thermostat (ecobee) to control the concealed unit (plus an interface/converter) - four room sensors or pucks for each room fed by the concealed unit Is that correct? Will all of these units play nice together? I worry that using a smart thermostat mixed with pucks on the same outdoor unit will confuse the system. Any advice?

This is a great question!
I believe that instead of an Ecobee thermostat you should see if the concealed unit has an available IR receiver. If this is the case you would be able to use 5 Flair Pucks with the 4 Smart Vents with no issue. This would keep all your units in the same mode.
When you configure your mini splits you can enable "Lock IR Device Modes" in the Flair app.
Have you measured your ducts to ensure we carry the proper size Smart Vents for your rooms?
Take a look at this article from our Knowledge Base regarding measuring your vent size:
