    Hi Glenn,

We keep track of requests per size. This helps inform us of what sizes to make next. I'll add your request for 8x14.

    All the best,

    Finn

Please add me as well. Newer homes have mostly 8x14 vents. Your competitor uses a trim to downsize the opening and allow 6x14 vents to installed in larger openings. This may be an alternative in the mean time while you decide whether or not you'll invest in manufacturing larger size vents.

Same here. I need an 8x14 inch vent. The Flair system looks like the one that interests me most, but the 8x14 vent is the most important size that I need as it is the vent closest to my thermostat. If I can't control that vent then I can't resolve my hot and cold room problems with the Flair system.

I asked for this years ago!!! Still desperately need several. Damn builders put in vents that were too large for multiple rooms. I am right now frying an egg on top of my head in my office.

I'd need around 4.  I have a mix of 6x14 and 8x14.  At this point, I'm making do with some 6x14 and some 3d-printed trim pieces.  Holding off on doing the rest of my house; hoping I can get some full-size vents and move the smaller ones to appropriate-sized locations.

me too.  holding off for now as half my rooms are 8x14.  doesnt make sense to do 10 6x14/6x12 and not be able to do the 8 8x14s.

Please add me to the list. Need this 8 X 14 size. We live in a new housing development and I think all 5 builders use the 8 X 14 size.

Any estimation time frame we will get or should we move on? Just don't want to wait if there is no hope.

    Thanks

Is there an ETA when Flair would start to consider this size? I first reached out to Flair in 2019 about this size and I have not seen any progress on this.

Add another vote for 14x8. I was all set to outfit my whole house but lack of a 14x8 is a show stopper.

Does flair even look at this forum? If it’s been 3 years it’s likely never gonna happen.

I agree, 8 x 14 is the standard in new construction here in Central Texas  - once these are available, order will be placed.

@Finn are there any updates on where we are with this request? The Community in this thread likely checks often (I have this thread bookmarked) because we are very interested in buying this product, but need the size to fit our home's specs. Any update would be helpful. As others have expressed, it's been a while since the last update.

@Finn A possible suggestion for 8 x 14.  Have you considered using a Crowdfunding such as Indieggo to generate the demand and the investment to engineer and product the vent?  I have seen a number of established companies using Indieggo to fund the development of an additional product.  It's a way to test the demand and also have the potential buyers sign on and put money on the line for product, thus funding the development of the product.   It's also a great way to make the people who visit the crowdfunding site to find out about your existing products.  I have to believe placing a 8 x 14 vent on Indieggo would drive a lot of interest and purchases.  Just so you know, there is no guarantee the product will ever be delivered.  I've personally have had several 'investments' go sideways with no delivery or refund.

Add me to the list of "stuck without 8x14...... Sadly the 4 I need are in the 2 rooms that NEED control more than any other room.. Soo that is 10 other vents that are stuck and can't be ordered without the 4 8x14s I need..

One year later and still nothing. How can you not carry a common size?

    Hi guys,

given that no plans have been published on releasing 8x14, I created a trim plate for the 6x14 vent from Flair. Yes, I am fully aware of the implications going down to 6x14, etc and I noted that in my publication of the 3D print model for this project. Here is the link to this trim.

    Enjoy! ;-)

I'll look into the trim plate but I also need a 8x14 vent. The two main vents in our 80s era Bay Area home are 8x14 and they are the ones I need to be able to control.

Maybe my previous message was not clear. Personally, I do not expect Flair to release 8x14 anytime soon given the supply chain issues worldwide, World economy, etc. Companies do not invest in widening their portfolio right now. I might be wrong and we get a nice surprise.

In the absence of that information, I made this trim allowing you to buy the 6x14 today and put this into your 8x14 vent and control it that way.

If they release ever an 8x14, it will be your choice if you want to keep the 6x14 + trim or replace them then with the 8x14 once they become available.

Personally, I am not waiting and I am deploying the 6x14 now.

I hope that helps and clarifies.

Yeah, sorry if I sounded confusing, just wanted to say exactly that, I'll have a look at the trim plate and using the 6x14 but if an 8x14 would become available I'd rather use that.

Thank you so much for making and providing the model!

Sorry, I am not selling as I did this for my home only. I did provide all the data and files though.

There are many 3D print shops in your area on online on ETSY and if you show them my page with the files and the instructions, they can give you a price.

Hm, I actually did get the trim plate printed by a 3d printing shop and it sadly does not fit. Odd. I do have the 14 x 6 vent but the vent itself is not tall enough it does not cover the "cut out" in the trim plate vertically. Just as a warning for anyone who wants to print those themselves I think I'll have to send my Flair vents back.
