Provide a 8x14 Flair Smart Vent
Several of my bedroom vents are 8x14. Does Flair have any plans to support these sized vents?

Hi Glenn,
We keep track of requests per size. This helps inform us of what sizes to make next. I'll add your request for 8x14.
All the best,

Please add me as well. Newer homes have mostly 8x14 vents. Your competitor uses a trim to downsize the opening and allow 6x14 vents to installed in larger openings. This may be an alternative in the mean time while you decide whether or not you'll invest in manufacturing larger size vents.

Same here. I need an 8x14 inch vent. The Flair system looks like the one that interests me most, but the 8x14 vent is the most important size that I need as it is the vent closest to my thermostat. If I can't control that vent then I can't resolve my hot and cold room problems with the Flair system.

All the best,
@Finn are there any updates on where we are with this request? The Community in this thread likely checks often (I have this thread bookmarked) because we are very interested in buying this product, but need the size to fit our home's specs. Any update would be helpful. As others have expressed, it's been a while since the last update.

@Finn A possible suggestion for 8 x 14. Have you considered using a Crowdfunding such as Indieggo to generate the demand and the investment to engineer and product the vent? I have seen a number of established companies using Indieggo to fund the development of an additional product. It's a way to test the demand and also have the potential buyers sign on and put money on the line for product, thus funding the development of the product. It's also a great way to make the people who visit the crowdfunding site to find out about your existing products. I have to believe placing a 8 x 14 vent on Indieggo would drive a lot of interest and purchases. Just so you know, there is no guarantee the product will ever be delivered. I've personally have had several 'investments' go sideways with no delivery or refund.

Hi guys,
given that no plans have been published on releasing 8x14, I created a trim plate for the 6x14 vent from Flair. Yes, I am fully aware of the implications going down to 6x14, etc and I noted that in my publication of the 3D print model for this project. Here is the link to this trim.

Enjoy! ;-)

Maybe my previous message was not clear. Personally, I do not expect Flair to release 8x14 anytime soon given the supply chain issues worldwide, World economy, etc. Companies do not invest in widening their portfolio right now. I might be wrong and we get a nice surprise.
In the absence of that information, I made this trim allowing you to buy the 6x14 today and put this into your 8x14 vent and control it that way.
If they release ever an 8x14, it will be your choice if you want to keep the 6x14 + trim or replace them then with the 8x14 once they become available.
Personally, I am not waiting and I am deploying the 6x14 now.
I hope that helps and clarifies.

Hm, I actually did get the trim plate printed by a 3d printing shop and it sadly does not fit. Odd. I do have the 14 x 6 vent but the vent itself is not tall enough it does not cover the "cut out" in the trim plate vertically. Just as a warning for anyone who wants to print those themselves I think I'll have to send my Flair vents back.
