Flair with Google home in manual mode

I'm curious if there is a way for me to set something to this this behavior change - I have a set up here where I have been using home home to set a target temperature per room, but with the flair set to manual mode and the vents opened/closed with a script. This is because the script has special knowledge about our home - essentially, I'm using that to avoid having a custom app to set the temperature. This worked great until sometime recently, when a change occured that caused the Google home to be forced to the state of "off" when flair is in manual mode. I understand why people would want this, but its there a setting I can change somewhere to undo this? Obviously I figure no one is going to make a change but my weird use case, but if it exists, it would be fantastic Thanks either way in advance

Great catch. The change in behavior you noted is the result of some mostly unrelated changes that were deemed necessary recently. I am glad you already have a workaround in place.

(I did end up writing the app to control it instead - but this would still be nice to have if it exists!)
