Technically the Puck Pro is available only through wholesale hvac distribution (Ferguson, Johnstone, etc.) - you can walk into their stores and purchase as a pro or consumer. The primary reason is that there are a number of utility rebates for some features that are available on the Puck Pro but the rebates require professional installation.

Chrissie : I understand that you can go to a distribution store and purchase it. What I was asking is why is the product not available for purchase online? There is no mention of it for consumers to purchase on the web page. If I would have known how to purchase it as a consumer, I would have maybe tried to do that depending on what the benefit is. I only found out about it by chance (searching for puck, for example). Other than the rebates, what is the difference between the pro puck and the non-pro? As far as rebates, it seems like you would have to show proof of professional installation regardless...

    Regards,

    Jose

    Hi Jose,

Puck Pros are used as integrated controls that intelligently switch between two heating systems, one of which is a mini split and the other a smart thermostat-controlled fossil-fuel-based system. States in the northeastern territory are offering rebates for this type of technology and the installation must be done by a professional.

    All the best,

    Finn
