How to download or change the code set on your Flair Puck
If the code set on your Flair Puck is not controlling your mini split correctly, please take a look at the instructions below. These will guide you on how to download and test a different code set.
- Tap the Flair menu, tap "Home Settings", and tap the "HVAC Systems" tab.
- Find the mini split for which you wish to test a new code set in the list of mini splits presented.
- Tap on the mini split to expand the settings for that mini split.
- Tap "Brand" and enter one of the following:
- The brand of your mini split or
- The brand of the specific code set you have been asked to try (occasionally, we may have a good code set that is listed under another brand)
- Once you have set the "Brand" value, scroll down and tap the "Reset Model Number" button.
- This will invoke the Setup wizard and present you with the screen below. On this screen, you will enter and select one of the following:
- The model # found on your remote control OR
- The model # you were given by the Flair Support Team
- If you aren't sure which brand/model to use, proceed to step 7 below.
-
If you are entering a model # on this screen, you will click next, acknowledge the next two screens by clicking next, and then be taken to the screen shown in step 8 below.
-
If you aren't sure which brand/model to use, on the following screens select: MY MODEL IS NOT IN THE LIST, then tap "Next"
- Once the Puck shows the IR Settings menu (as shown below) tap the Orange "PUCK DISPLAYS IR SETTINGS" button in the app setup flow.
- The Puck will now display a list of model numbers representing code sets that can be tested. Stand within 5-10 feet of the head unit and with one of the IR blasters on the Puck pointing at the mini split's IR receiver, push down on the Puck to issue the test command. Please ensure you are not blocking the IR blaster with your fingers or body. Allow 30 seconds for the mini split to beep. If it doesn't beep, rotate the bezel on the Puck to select the next model listed and try it.
- When you find a model that makes the mini split beep, enter it in the Flair app on this screen and tap "Next". If you can't find a model that works, close the setup wizard and contact Support. Please include the brand and model of your mini split's remote control, and clear pictures of the front and back of the remote.
- Flair will download the codes to the controller Puck.
- When the codes have been downloaded, you'll see this screen.
- It may take a few minutes for the code set download to complete. Please be patient, you may see the screen below as the code set download is completed.
- Once the code set download is complete, we strongly encourage you to fully test the new code set. This does not mean you will test every single code, but we recommend testing all the basic functionalities listed in the "Test the Code Set" section below.
How to test the code set you have downloaded to your Flair Puck
