Flair's scheduling allows you to create a schedule for individual rooms in your home. Scheduling allows you to schedule temperature setpoints for specific times and days. Flair will then use its automation to control your Smart Vents and/or IR devices in order best achieve this desired temperature.
Note: To use scheduling, your Flair System should be in Active Rooms mode. To switch to Active Rooms mode, see our article on Set Point Mode: Active Rooms.
Note: Flair does not recommend using Flair Scheduling alongside a thermostat schedule. Instead, Flair recommends that when using scheduling, only Flair scheduling is used and that the 'Set Point Controller' is set to 'Flair App'.
If you do not set a temperature for a room in your schedule, Flair will use your default set point. If your Flair system is in "Thermostat Set Point" mode, the default set point is the set point temperature from your smart thermostat. If your Flair system is in Flair Set Point mode, the default set point is your Home Set Point (seen below)
- Tap the Schedule button on the Home Screen in the Flair App. Then, tap on Create New Schedule
- Name your new schedule
- Create a new Schedule Event using the Add New Schedule Event button
- Choose your target setpoint temperature for this schedule event. Then, set the start time, end time, days of the week, and which rooms to apply the event to
- Press Save to save your new schedule
- Tap the Schedule button on the Home Screen in the Flair App. Then, tap on the gear icon next to the schedule's name
- Click on the colored tab in the Schedule Viewer to open the event-editing screen
To deactivate a schedule, choose "No Schedule"
You must set a schedule as active to enable your schedule.
- Tap the Schedule button
- Select which schedule you would like to be active. The name underneath the Schedule button name should update to the name of your schedule
When creating a schedule event, set the Schedule Event Mode to Inactive. Instead of scheduling Smart Vents to be open or closed, setting a room as Inactive automatically turns on Backpressure Protect. This prevents too many Smart Vents from being closed and protects your central system.
When creating a schedule event, set the Schedule Event Mode to Inactive. When a room with a mini split is set to inactive, your unit will be turned off.
If your Away Mode is set to Off Only, setting a room to inactive will turn the unit off.
If your Away Mode is set to Smart Away, your mini split may be turned on if the room temperature goes outside the bounds of your minimum and maximum temperatures.
If you schedule an event in a room with a smart thermostat, Flair will adjust your smart thermostat regardless of whether you're in Flair Set Point or Thermostat Set Point mode. This means that Flair will adjust your thermostat set point to the set point you created in your schedule.
For example, if your schedule has your living room set to 70ºF at 6pm (and there is an ecobee thermostat in your living room), Flair will send a request to your ecobee to set itself to 70ºF at 6pm.
If you set a hold and a schedule event for the same time, the hold will always take priority.
Flair respects the following priority for temperature set points:
Highest Priority: User-set holds (See the Holds article for an explanation on Holds)
Medium priority: Schedule event
Lowest priority: Default home set point (In Thermostat Set Point mode, the default set point is the thermostat set point. In Flair Set Point mode, the default set point is the Home Set Point)
