Flair is designed to open and close Smart Vents based on temperature (comfort) and not based on time.
For Flair Smart Vents to open and close based on the Flair automation, they must be assigned to a room and that room must have an approved temperature-sensing device. You can see a list of compatible temperature-sensing devices here.
The set point for that room will dictate when the Smart Vents in that room will open and close. By default our Smart Vents open and close when temperatures in the room stray more than 1°F away from the set point for that room.
For example, let's assume the current Flair Mode is "Cool" and the set point for the room is 72°F.
- The Smart Vents will be open anytime the room is warmer than 73°F to allow the cool air into the room.
- The Smart Vents will attempt to close any time the room is below 71°F to prevent further cooled air from entering the room. If the Smart Vents do not close and the temperature is below 71°F you will likely see a note in the Flair Room Tile that the Smart Vent is open due to back pressure protection. Essentially there are limits to how many of your vents can be safely closed at one time.
One more example. Let's assume the current Flair Mode is "Heat" and the set point for the room is 72°F.

If the Smart Vents do not close and the temperature is above 73°F you will likely see a note in the Flair Room Tile that the Smart Vent is open due to back pressure protection.
