Thanks for your question! We are planning on building support for the Nest Temperature Sensors (much like we have with the ecobee Remote Sensors). However, we cannot do so until Nest releases developer API support for these new Temperature Sensors.

We have talked with Nest about this and they have informed us it's on their roadmap. However, if you would like to speed up this process, we recommend that you contact Nest customer support to let them know that you would like them to speed up the API roadmap for Nest Temperature Sensors so you can see an integration between the Nest Temperature Sensors and Flair Smart Vents.

We hope to get this integration up and running soon!

I am also waiting for this integration to be completed. Makes no sense to have 2 temperature sensors just for compatibility. I guess if Nest does not release their API's soon, may have to dump their sensors and buy pucks instead.

Assuming Flair ever gets vents back in stock. First it was early summer availability, now ‘maybe’ before heating season (as my furnace kicks on while I type....)

Hello, I'm wondering if there has been any update on API capability with the Nest sensors?  I have multiple nest temperature sensors throughout the house already.  I'm holding off purchasing a smart vent system until I can have one that fully integrates with my Nest systems. Thank you!

    Hi there.

Nest still has not released API functionality for the Nest sensors. We still recommend that you contact Nest customer support to let them know that you would like them to speed up the API roadmap for Nest Temperature Sensors so you can see an integration between the Nest Temperature Sensors and Flair Smart Vents.

You can also leave a message on their official message board here: https://nestdevelopers.io/t/temperature-sensor-api/1317/36

Unfortunately, Nest has yet to make their Nest Sensors available in their developer API. Until they do, we will be unable to build an integration with these Sensors—we can't even start doing a development or beta process until they release the Sensor developer API.

We still recommend that users leave a message with Nest either via their customer support or on their official message board (https://nestdevelopers.io/t/temperature-sensor-api/1317/36)

    Flair Customer Support

    Hi Gavriel,

As of August, 2019, Google has stopped new integrations with Nest. See:

    https://support.flair.co/hc/en-us/articles/360032817912-Flair-and-Google-Nest

No new information is available on when, or if, they will create an API for allowing 3rd party products, like Flair, to access their remote sensors.

    All the best,

    Finn

We contacted Google Nest a few weeks ago, and it seems as if they're targeting early 2021 for a Works with Google Assistant API for Nest products.

Interested in your product but not willing to switch of my nest thermostat or invest in multiple pucks… can you work with nest remote temp sensors yet?

Any update on this? I already have a few rooms getting monitored by Nest Sensors, and I would like to automate the vents in those rooms, but it seems silly to buy new sensors for just that purpose.

Now that deeper integration with Nest is back on, do Nest temperature sensors work with Flair, or do we need to buy many Flair pucks?

I would like to know about this as well - Im a new Flair Customer but I have a few Nest Sensors and of course a Nest thermstat - I dont want to buy a $100 puck for each room where I have a cheaper and integrated Nest Sensor...

Any updates on if the temp sensors from Google Nest will work as room temp sensors for Flair? It has been four years since initial ask.

They dont need to wait - At least, not if you have a Nest Protect in your house - The Nest Protect API allows access to temperature sensors - Its was added to Home Assistant some time ago, so there is an API call for it.

Im debating creating some scripts to control Flair using the data in Home Assistant - it just frustrating that this isnt new, but Flair isnt implemting it.  I bought only two vents to test the system, I need to buy at least 8 more but I wont until Flair adds support for the Temp Sensors.   If I find a different solution other than Flair, I will jump if it support the sensors.

Hopefully this is addressed soon or Flair sells a $40.00 sensor with similar functionality. Until then, I'm going to wait to buy this smart vent system.

Totally agree - Its an easy implementation, Ive started to loook at Home Assistant and how I can write the logic to just do this myself now - I just dont have time to finish it and by the time I do, I really hope Flair decides to add the example I sent them in a support ticket.   I dont want to buy more sensors just for the vents when most of the rooms I want vents in already have Google Temp Sensors in them.

I am also looking for the integration. However, I understand selling their temperature pucks is another line of revenue. I think the product manager needs to compare the sales lost against the puck revenue. We are all waiting for the integration decision = sales opportunity.

Flair support. Since there is apparently an API for the nest temp sensor integration… were are you with the integration on your end?

    Please advise.

Flair, your original comment 5 years ago states: "We are planning on building support for the Nest Temperature Sensors". Nest has exposed the API for the Nest temperature sensors a while ago, so where is the integration? How many sprints are there going to be before we see an integration?
I will not be purchasing a $120 puck for every room. Instead I will purchase a $33 nest temperature sensor for each room and use my Home Assistant integration to control the vents, but that isn't a perfect solution. If Flair came out with their own reasonably priced temperature sensor, I'd buy it.
Not supporting the sensor is making your product less attractive and if another smart vent competitor releases integration with nests temperature sensor you are going to lose revenue as people like me will more than happily switch over.
This is a necessary integration, or you need to release your own temperature sensor.

I am also waiting on this integration to go live before I buy in on a Flair systmem. I already have multiple Nest temperature sensors, so replacing them makes little sense.
Flair, please finalize this integration ASAP.

    Thanks!

Its annoying to see that Home Assistant has this feature and has for some time, but Flair wont add it to the app for it's cusomers (without a good reason, other than profits from buying Flair's less precise Pucks).

I hadn't seen this - did not realize there was a way to get temperature sensor data from the remote sensors - thats fantastic! Is it available through the nest protect api if you don't have a nest protect?

Similarly - can anyone confirm that this is also available for those who have migrated to a google account and away from a nest account?

I'd say this is something we would consider implementing fairly quickly if 1) it works with the more current nest api and 2) if there is no nest protect required.  Note that it might not be that easy to do this on our end as we will need to get google's permissions to expand the scope of the integration but we certainly can try.  Thanks for staying on top of this and us!
