Ecobee, sensors, smart vent, pucks working together
AnsweredI currently have an Ecobee 4 with multiple sensors throughout the house. Everything works pretty well as is. The problem I have is morning heating. My wife likes to sleep with the door closed. As such, when the heat runs in the morning to raise the temperature to the "Home" comfort setting, the room quickly overheats until I open the door.
I was hoping to get a smart vent and a puck to resolve this issue. I only want the smart vent to work during heating use (unused in the summer time). When the bedroom temperature reaches 75 degrees, I want to vent to completely close or mostly close. The furnace will continue to run to heat the rest of the house. I already have a Ecobee sensor in the bedroom. Is there way to do this?

Hi Daniel,
Flair Smart Vents are the ideal solution for a room that gets too warm.
Place a Puck and Smart Vent in your bedroom and give it a set point. Flair Smart Vents will work automatically to maintain your desired temperature.

If you don't bother integrating them, then you don't have to worry about any interaction calling for service either.
With just 1 room using Flair, in my opinion, the integration doesn't really add any value.
If you had a significant portion of the house using Flair vents, then the integration could add value.
I have an Ecobee single zone house, with Flair vents in 3 areas using 3 pucks, and didn't bother integrating them at all. I also have 2 Ecobee sensors in non-Flair rooms. All the Flair vents are in rooms that over heat/cool first while the Ecobee sensors are in the rooms that lag. It's been working very well after some trial and error on the different set points.
