Implications of Active/Inactive Occupancy Flair+Ecobee
Hoping someone can help me understand how Flair uses occupancy information for rooms.
I'm using my Ecobee as the primary controller thermostat and have comfort settings configured for Daytime, Nighttime, etc. My desired behavior is that the Flair vents will open/close based on the ecobee remote sensor's temperature reading, regardless of whether the room is detected as occupied or unoccupied.
However, in the Flair app, my rooms are frequently showing as 'AWAY'. I presume this is because I have 'Remote Sensor Occupancy' set to Enabled, so the Flair app is tracking the ecobee remote sensor behavior. When a room shows 'AWAY' will the flair vents continue to adjust vent open/close to regulate temperature?
Should I set 'Remote Sensor Occupancy' to Disabled (use Flair) and manually set all my rooms to Active?
Thank you,
Eric
My setup is :
Set Point Controller: Thermostat (Ecobee)
Remote Sensor Occupancy: Enabled
Default Hold Duration: Forever
Home/Away Mode: Manual
Flair Vents: 2 vents, each in rooms with an Ecobee Remote Sensor. Wired for AC power.
Flair Puck: In a closet w/ no vents. Not used for temperature. Manually configured 'AWAY'
Ecobee Thermostat: In a hallway w/ no Flair vents, used

Hi Eric,
When you have "Remote Sensor Occupancy" enabled, Flair will set rooms active and inactive based on occupancy. When a room displays "Away", it is inactive and Flair does not regulate temperature; however, Flair may open and close Vents in that room as necessary to manage temperature in active rooms and for back pressure protection.
So yes, disable "Remote Sensor Occupancy" and set all your rooms to active.
