Provide a 8x14 Flair Smart Vent
Several of my bedroom vents are 8x14. Does Flair have any plans to support these sized vents?

It's hard to explain, let me add a picture.
I've given up at this point, I had it printed at an online service and it took almost three weeks to get here.

As you can see there is about a quarter inch between the edge of the vent front cover and the trim plate. Don't know how that happend.

Hello Andreas,
I uploaded v3 to the Thingiverse. If you compare the original STL file and 3MF files, you will see that the new files address this issue. I also smoothed out the inversed hole for easier connection.

Please download the files and compare the old ones with the new ones using e.g. 3D Builder or 360 Fusion. You should see the wider coverage. I just printed one half again just to make sure it fits properly.

I just pre-ordered a 12 x 12. So excited! I still need three 8x14s and then my entire system will be converted to Flair. Any updates on additional rectangle sizes coming down the pipeline? Or a chance for different vent cover sizes for adaptability? I understand not wanting to restrict airflow, but is a 1 inch difference really going to be that much of a game changer? 🤔

@Pseudomozer for the win!! You could definitely sell this, by the way. I’ve been in other threads and everyone talks about Keen but they are sold out of most sizes. I know absolutely zero about 3D printing (which is unfortunate, bc I have an unrelated need I’m trying to wrap my brain around) but I am going to see if I can find someone to print this for me. Thank you so much for being willing to share your intellectual property with all of us (and making adjustments for people!! Wow!).

At Empyrean3d.etsy.com we provide trim kits for all Flair ceiling vents in single piece and multiple styles. Dm me or message us on our site for more info. -
You aren't necessarily restricting 25% of the airflow by using a smaller vent and trim kit. Most 8x14" vents (not all) are fed by an 8" round duct.
An 8" round duct is capable of 160-180 CFM.
A 6x14" vent is capable of 320 CFM. Even if you were to account for the motors in place and call it equivalent to a 6x12" vent, that is still 270 CFM. That is well beyond what the round duct feeding those vents is capable of. That's why I didn't feel too concerned about doing it that way. Now, aesthetically it would look a lot better if you had a true 8x14" vent.

It's been three years since I started looking into the Flair vents. I needed 8x10 and 8x14 for my house, none of which were available the first time I learned about Flair, so I had to hold up. I followed some posts here about a year ago, and I was glad to see they promised the 8x10 in late 2023, which is now available. Unfortunately, it is not the same case for the 8x14, and Flair doesn't seem to care about the demand for this one.
Finding this thread restored my faith in humanity! Big thanks to Pseudomizer and Mathew Baldwin for thinking of solutions and sharing them with us. This time, I will pull the trigger for the configuration I need and try the 6x14 Flair vent + 3D-print trim for the 8x14 duct opening (luckily, I only need one of these).

I'm in the same boat. I started looking into Flair years ago, but they didn't have several of the sizes I needed. Now they do, and I'm switching all my vents, but I'm disappointed to see they've been ignoring the requests for 8x14 for so long.
Yes, thanks to Pseudomizer for saving me some design time! I combined his two pieces into one and printed it last night. I also purchased one from Mathew Baldwin.

Do you have any updates on 8 x 14 vents? This is the most upvoted and active thread on the forums (outside of local control.)

Hi Todd. You are welcome. If you share your single piece model, I would be more than happy to share it on thingiverse with credits to you as I am sure other people would like a one piece adapter. Otherwise, would you be open to share your model on thingiverse? Flair has not responded once here over all the years of people asking for this size hence my proposal.
