Flair/Google Nest + Radiators/Mini Splits?
Hello! We are getting started with Flair in our house and was hoping to check if any suggestions for best practices/thoughts on the below set up:
- Radiator/boiler heat for the winter - we have a Google Nest thermostat with Google temperature sensors in specific rooms
- Mini split cooling for summer (+ any additional heat needed in the winter in rooms that can get a bit cold)
In terms of best managing this set up, wondering if there are any general pointers I should keep in mind? Specifically - we have the Nest currently running the boiler based on temps in specific rooms/on a schedule. I'm wondering if we should turn off this scheduling on the Nest and use the Flair Pucks instead for smoothest operation, or if that's more a point of personal preference?
In the summer, this is a bit of a moot point as the mini splits will be controlled by the Flairs solely, but wondering if there's any thoughts on how to best co-mingle the Nest/Flairs during the summer where there can potentially both be radiator heat as well as the mini splits.
Appreciate the help!

Hi Mike,
Flair has a Secondary Heat feature that will intelligently use systems based on indoor and/or outdoor temperature. This will use systems more efficiently and run your boiler less frequently during the milder winter days.
To learn more about this feature, check out this article: Flair Puck Pro
We sell Puck Pros to professionals, but we can upgrade your Pucks remotely. Contact our Support Team if you're interested in pricing.
Please note that while our products are considered easy for home installation, any rebates require a professional HVAC technician to do the installation and filing.
All the best,
Finn
