What is a room hold?
A room hold is created when a change is made to the room by interaction with the app or the Puck. Holds are created as a result of:
- a change to the room's set point
- a change to the Active/Inactive status of the room
For example, this room is holding at 76°F.
Default Hold Duration - How long do holds last?
Flair uses the Default Hold Duration setting to determine when to end a hold.
The Default Hold Duration setting can be found in the Home Settings -> System Settings tab.
The Default Hold Duration can be one of the following:
- Until next scheduled event - if you are using a Flair schedule this is a good option as it allows the next scheduled event to take effect
- 3 hours
- 8 hours
- 24 hours
- Forever - this option requires a user to intervene and manually cancel the hold or it will be in place forever. This should be used with caution.
Modify or Cancel a Room Hold
To modify or cancel a room hold, tap the hold indicator.
From here, you can tap "CANCEL" to cancel the room hold, or tap "Edit Default Hold Duration" to modify the Default Hold Duration setting. This change applies to the entire home.
Holds and Away Behavior
When a Flair home is set to Away room holds are cleared. When the Flair home is set Home, any previous room holds will NOT be restored.
