Requirements
Mirror Mode is a feature that "mirrors" the mode and set point from an integrated smart thermostat in your Flair home to any mini splits or other Flair-controlled IR devices in your home.
For Mirror Mode to take effect you must have both an integrated smart thermostat and an IR-controlled device configured in your Flair home.
If you have these two HVAC systems configured in your Flair home there are two requirements for Mirror Mode
- The Set Point Controller (SPC) setting for the Flair home is set to "Thermostat", not "Flair App"
- Your mini splits and smart thermostat must support the same capabilities. If your Smart Thermostat can heat and cool your mini splits also need to be able to heat and cool.
What does Mirror Mode do?
When the requirements above are met Mirror Mode will communicate the current mode and set point on your thermostat to your mini splits. The idea is that they will work together to accomplish your comfort goals.
Examples:
- If your thermostat is heating to 68°F your mini split will also be set to heat to 68°F.
- If your thermostat is cooling to 75°F your mini split will also be set to cool to 75°F.
What if I don't want my thermostat controlling my mini split?
If you do not want Mirror Mode to keep your mini split in sync with your integrated smart thermostat you have two options
- You can change the Set Point Controller setting from Thermostat to Flair App, but this will have Flair writing set points to your thermostat. If you wish to keep your thermostat in control and leave the Set Point Controller as Thermostat see option 2 below.
- Your other option is to set up the mini split in a different Flair home that you create under this same email address. You can switch from one Flair home to another in the app with two taps and easily control both systems as needed.
