Second gateway puck connectivity
I have one gateway installed in the basement where 3 vents are located. I have defined a second gateway puck on the second floor due to a low signal. However, there are no improvements in the pucks/vents connectivity on that floor. I suspect the whole system is still connected to the gateway puck in the basement. What should be done to relink the pucks/vents on the second floor to the new gateway?

Hi Rony,
If you'd like to force Smart Vents to connect to a specific Gateway Puck, you'll need to power down the one they're currently connected to.
So, unplug the Gateway Puck in the basement. This should make the Vents go offline and force them to reconnect to the second-floor Gateway Puck. Once you see the Vents come back online, you can power on the basement Gateway Puck.
All the best,
Finn

In my opinion, the algorithm for which puck a vent connects to needs to be improved. Vents should only connect to the puck with the strongest signal. This check should be done at vent power-up and whenever the system enters setup mode (and documented so that users know how to reset their vents to the nearest puck). In all other cases, it should stay fixed.

I’m having this issue now. Up until recently, all of my vents and my only gateway was upstairs. Then I added my first vent downstairs and a gateway downstairs. The downstairs vent had low signal because it was trying to connect to the upstairs gateway. I did as suggested here and turned off the upstairs gateway. For the most part, the upstairs vents all went offline, but after two hours, the downstairs vent still won’t connect to the downstairs gateway. Now I’ve plugged back in the upstairs gateway. Half the upstairs vents connected to the upstairs gateway, but one of them connected to the downstairs gateway and is reporting low signal. Is there a way to tell the vent which gateway it should connect to?
