Why did my Puck come back after I removed it from my home?

My Puck came back after I removed it from the app

If you wish to remove a Puck from your Flair home, you will need to complete two steps: one in the app and one on the Puck itself.  This is because a Gateway Puck will still have the Wi-Fi credentials, and a Sensor Puck will still have its link to the Flair hub it was connected to previously.  Both will rejoin your home on their own if you don't complete both steps.  

• If the Puck is configured as a Gateway Puck
  1. Use the Forget Wifi option found in the Settings menu on the Puck.  Otherwise, it will rejoin the next time your Flair home is in Setup mode.
  2. Remove the Puck using the Delete Puck option found in the device settings for that Puck.
• If the Puck is configured as a Sensor Puck and connects to a Flair Bridge or Flair Gateway Puck in your home
  1. use the Unlink Gateway option found in the Settings menu on the Puck.  If you do not, it will rejoin your home almost immediately.  When removing a Sensor Puck, you should issue the Unlink Gateway command before removing the Puck from within the Flair app.
  2. Remove the Puck using the Delete Puck option found in the device settings for that Puck.
      

My Puck already rejoined — how do I get rid of it now?

You can follow the directions above to ensure it is removed completely. 

What if I want to use this Puck again later?

Clearing the Puck's Wi-Fi or gateway link does not damage it or make it unusable. When you want to use it again — in this home or a different one — add it back the normal way. See the Add Flair Puck article for the setup steps.
